CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried
out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency
operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and
nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water
and sanitation, health and micro-credit.
CARE Indonesia in Jakarta is currently recruiting the following position for its project:
JOB TITLE : TRAINER (CONSULTANT)

JOB SUMMARY
Generally, the garment industry is one of the largest employers of
low-skilled women workers. Despite their large numbers in the workforce,
relatively few female line workers advance to positions in management,
as they have few opportunity to enhance their managerial and life skills
that would enable their professional and personal growth.
In response to this need, Gap Inc. initiated the Gap Inc. P.A.C.E.
(Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement) workplace education
program. Research, design and development began late 2005 and a pilot
program was launched in 2007 in two garment factories in India. In
2012, CARE Indonesia staff will try to reproduce successful activities
from India (adapted to the Indonesian context). PACE beneficiaries,
objectives and activities are described below.
The goal of the PACE program is to improving the status of women workers
at workplace and in their personal lives, leading to an enhanced
quality of life and contributing to building a more efficient workforce
for accelerated business growth of the vendor partners
Toward this end, the project’s specific objectives are to:
1. Improve female garment workers’ life skills.
2. Improve female garment workers’ enhance their careers.
Thepilot projectwillbenefitapproximately260employeesofthe
selectedfactory, PT Gunung Salak Garment Sukabumi. Content of life
skills training in this project is includes 3 core module components,
communication, problem solving and decision making, and time and stress
management. There are 4 additional materials of training for garment
female worker; Execution excellent, financial literacy, legal and social
entitlement, and general reproductive health. Between core module and
supplementary module we will conduct the essential sessions. Total
modules that will be implemented in the first years are 7 topics plus
TOT for co-trainer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Consultants will responsible conduct training which has 7
modules (communication, problem solving and decision making, time and
stress management, Financial literacy, legal and social entitlement,
General Health and Reproductive Health, and working together co-trainer
during internship process).
2. Main result is redeliver training to female worker,
particularly to improve some of 260 participants and 24 staffs to be
facilitator in facilitation model to more than 3000 female worker in
garment factory.
3. The consultant will focus on carrying out training based on
output and achievement as well as it was mentioned in program design of
project. The training will implemented by conduct close relation and
collaboration with core team of PACE program.
4. The Consultant will report all of activity to Project Officer directly.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor degree with extensive experience in working with community and, particularly carry out training of trainer.
· Familiarity with female worker issue, especially garment worker issue – education and improving life skill capacity.
· Familiarity with adult education approach, which is include
contextual, condition and cultural barriers of female worker conditions.
· Having 3 year experiences working with and/or conducting training of trainer as a team.
· Ability to plan and work independently and efficiently and to understand and analyze information quickly.
· Ability to deal with and effectively resolve unexpected issues.
· Excellent experience in life skill and vocational matter,
analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, especially related
to worker issue.
