CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried
out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency
operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and
nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water
and sanitation, health and micro-credit.
CARE Indonesia in Makassar is currently recruiting the following position for its project:
JOB TITLE : INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR (CONSULTANT)

REPORTS TO : EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & RESPONSE COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY
CARE International Indonesia firmly believes that Emergency Preparedness
Planning (EPP) is a critical component for all development programming
and is a necessary ingredient not only for effective emergency response
but also for effective risk prevention, mitigation and preparedness
before a disaster occurs.
In 2011 CARE International Indonesia has gone through a thorough and
consultative process of its emergency work and developing an updated
strategy to strengthen all aspects of CARE’s approach to and capacity
for emergency preparedness and response.
As a result of a changing portfolio, key-staff, organizational
structure, there is a need to revisit Indonesia CII-EPP. The two days
workshops will allow CARE International Indonesia how to focus on
prevention and mitigation-taking pre-emptive measures to help
communities avoid emergencies and become better equipped so that the
impact of disasters are reduced as a key objective of this workshop.
Since some risks cannot be completely mitigated, Country Office should
always remain in a state of readiness to respond to crises.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Asan interpreter or translator and during the event.
2. As atranslator or interpreter, and when discussions / presentations from Indonesian to English and vice versa.
3. Asan interpreter during field visits.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Has a degree in relevant field
· Has experiences as interpreter and translator
· Must be fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (verbal and written)
· Ability to work with a team and minimum supervision
· Demonstrated capacity to work as a team member
· Facility with Excel and Word Office application
