Program Manager Opportunity with ACDI/VOCA

Since 1963 and in
145 countries, ACDI/VOCA has empowered people in developing and transitional
nations to succeed in the global economy. Based in Washington, D.C., and with
an office in Jakarta, ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development
organization that delivers technical and management assistance in enterprise

development, agribusiness, financial services, community development and food
security in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil
society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries,
including the AMARTA II project in Indonesia, and revenues of over $140 million.

Program Manager, Indonesia
We currently seek a Program Managerfor a proposed three-year project in Indonesia funded
by USAID. The project will apply a labor-sensitive value chain approach that
focuses on stimulating more remunerative and sustainable employment
opportunities for the very poor through private sector based pilot activities
in the horticulture and coffee sectors. The project will also have a robust learning
component to assess impact over time on sustainable reductions in poverty.
Activities will promote learning and best practices around more-inclusive
market development that reduces poverty. The project is expected to start on or
about October 2012; however, the position is contingent upon ACDI/VOCA being
awarded the program.

Responsibilities:
•        Provide
overall technical management and administrative supervision for a
learning-focused economic growth project.
•        Serve
as the primary liaison between ACDI/VOCA and the project beneficiaries and
stakeholders, and lead technical implementation.
•        Ensure
effective communications to numerous stakeholders and participants. This
includes building relationships with the private sector, writing technical
documents and sharing project learning through workshops and trainings.
•        Ensure
the quality of all activities, including budgeting, procurement, grants
administration, monitoring and evaluation, etc.
•        Prepare
and submit reports as required by the donor and ACDI/VOCA.

Qualifications:
•        Solid
understanding of a market systems and value chain approach, especially value
chain analysis and facilitation-based implementation.
•        Master’s
degree or equivalent in agriculture, labor economics, or another relevant
subject.
•        Minimum
of three years’ experience as Project Director or Team Leader, or primary leader
of a core technical component within a project or firm with demonstrated.
management, budget and supervision responsibilities.
•        Minimum
of seven years’ demonstrated experience working on agriculture or private
sector economic growth projects and initiatives, with a minimum of five years on
donor-funded international development initiatives.
•        Strong
English-language written and oral communication skills are required.
•        Fluent
Bahasa required.
