Seeking Executive Coordinator for BCTP & PFB Heroes Campaign in Bali

An environmental campaign group working on plastic waste reduction and
prevention initiatives with retailers, community and government in
Bali is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Executive
Coordinator.
Reports to: Steering Committee
Based at: Ubud, Bali
Duration: June – January 2012 (8 months)
Background
Plastic-Free Bali is a non-profit collective campaigning to promote
plastic waste prevention in Bali, where over 1600 tons of plastic
waste is created daily. Bali’s waste pick-up and landfill services are
inadequate with about 75 percent of waste left uncollected. Most
plastic waste is burnt or ends up in illegal dumping sites, rivers and
the ocean. Plastic-Free Bali uses community projects, creative
education and online campaigning to inspire people to use less
plastic. Their key message is simple – bring your own bag when
shopping. Single-use plastic bags are the number one consumer item in
the world. They are often used for only minutes but can pollute the
environment for over 1000 years. Worldwide, about two billion plastic
bags are thrown away daily and 26,000 tons of plastic waste enter our
oceans every day.
