CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried
out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency
operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and
nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water
and sanitation, health and micro-credit.
CARE Indonesia in Kupang-East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is currently recruiting the following position for its project:
JOB TITLE : GENDER EMPOWERMENT ADVISOR

JOB SUMMARY
CARE is non-sectarian, non-profit international organization whose
mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities
in the world. Drawing strength from its global diversity, resources and
experience, CARE promotes innovative solutions and advocates for global
responsibility.
The position will report to the Project Coordinator and will be the key
focus for this work within AID Consortium for the gender empowerment
sector and support the inclusion and participation of women, children
and people with disability in DRR in communities and schools of remote
and rural areas of the target districts by strengthening inclusive DRR
at community, district, province and national level. Primary focus will
be on supporting the capacity of sub-national actors including BPBD,
Dinas PPO, Dinas Sosial and local civil society organizations and
developing sustainable mechanisms to transfer knowledge and skills to
local stakeholders, ensuring that DRR plans and their implementation are
inclusive of the needs of the most vulnerable groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Developof gender empowerment concept and implementation in AID Consortium program.
2. Ensure integration of issues of gender, marginalisation and
vulnerability throughout the activities of AIDC including but not
limited to:
a. community planning, consultations and decision-making related to AIDC interventions
b. gender sensitive issues
c. livelihood development strategies and plans,
In all such cases, the participation of women and marginal groups must be considered.
3. In collaboration with the AIDC M&E person-in-charge, support
the Project Coordinator (HI) and teams to monitor the implementation
related to the gender empowerment components. This will involve
contributing to the development of monitoring tools and approaches and
supporting the implementation of field monitoring activities.
4. Support the undertaking of gender and social analyses at the
community level to ensure that AIDC intervention aiming for gender and
social equity in their application are grounded in practice.
5. Promote awareness raising and introduction of practices that
address gender and social equity within communities themselves.
6. Other required task given by Supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience:
a. Extensive experience managing complex projects and work with
government agencies and building partnerships with NGOs or other civil
society organizations that focusing on gender issues would be an
advantage.
b. Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a community-based project.
c. Proven ability to manage team work to achieve certain targets by
delegating the works effectively and creating an environment in which
the individuals are highly motivated.
d. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective and frequent
communication which is critical for keeping the project moving,
identifying potential problems, soliciting suggestions to improve
project performance.
Computer and language skills:
a. Fully computer literate.
b. English spoken and writen is desireable.
Desirable Qualifications and Competencies (including interpersonal skills)
a. Familiar with CARE system is highly desirable.
b. Ability to develop people.
c. Excellent communication skills.
d. Good interpersonal skills.
e. Problem solving skills.

g. Willing to traveland work in a remote location.
