Chemonics seeks a Deputy Chief of Pparty for an anticipated long-term
assignment on a current USAID-funded project supporting the Indonesian
Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and other stakeholders in  efforts
to achieve sustainability in the marine and fisheries sector and to improve
the response of coastal communities to near-term disasters and long-term

impacts related to climate change. We are looking for individuals who have
a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:  assist the chief of party with the overall
technical management of the project; oversee coordination and activities of
field offices; assist with management of climate change adaptation project
sites; provide support in the integration of the USAID Marine Resources
Program; ensure the implementation and compliance of monitoring and
evaluation activities across all components; and oversee implementation of
work under the project grants program.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in international program management and
application of international best practices to development projects,
preferably with USAID
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of natural resource management preferred,
including sound knowledge of marine ecosystems (reef conservation, mangrove
reforestation, fisheries management, etc.)
  and proven track record of managing fisheries,  climate change
adaptation, or coastal community support activities
• Previous experience managing or overseeing grants
• Experience with monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and approaches
• Proven team leadership, staff management, project administration, and
financial management skills are required, including ability to manage and
develop local relationships
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fluency in English a must and proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia desirable
• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree highly desirable
