Since 2010 Handicap International implements inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction activitiess to support vulnerable communities and schools in Kupang, TTS and Belu districts of NTT province.
In 2012 - 2013, Handicap International aims to support the inclusion and participation of women, children and people with disability in DRR in communities and schools of remote and rural areas of the target districts by strengthening inclusive DRR at community, district, province and national level. Primary focus will be on supporting the capacity of sub-national actors including BPBD, Dinas PPO, Dinas Sosial and local civil society organizations and developing sustainable mechanisms to transfer knowledge and skills to local stakeholders, ensuring that DRR plans and their implementation are inclusive of the needs of the most vulnerable groups.
Handicap International is currently looking for some positions for its office in Atambua, Belu, NTT:

Position Title        : School Facilitator (SF)
Location               : Atambua, Belu, NTT
Closing date         : June 22, 2012

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the line management of the Project Officer, the School Facilitator will organize, implement and monitor the activities related specifically with the schools DRR thematic. She/he will have to do frequent visits to the field in some remote villages areas in Belu District. The tasks in particular are:

* To implement DRR activities, specific support for children with disabilities and recreational activities to scale-up and promote Inclusive CBDRR in 3 disaster-prone schools
 * To promote and support the sustainability of Inclusive DRR in schools through technical support, networking and advocacy
* To provide support to trainers in building capacities of established and active Local Civil Society Organizations (CSO)
* To accompany CSO on the implementation of inclusive CBDRR approaches and methods at the school level.
* To provide support in organizing, implementing and monitoring workshops, awareness raising sessions and training activities at the school level
* To be the focal point and to liaise between the project and the beneficiaries of the project
* To provide technical support, strengthen networking efforts and advocate for the sustainability of Inclusive CBDRR at the school level

DUTY STATION: The School Facilitator will be based in Atambua, Belu, NTT with frequent travels to remote areas in the district.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Essential:
*D3
*Minimum of 2 years practical experience in the field of CBDRM preferably in NTT
*Intermediate English
*Legitimate and willing to ride a motorbike for working purpose

Desired:
*Experience in Disability issue and/or DRR will be an asset

Initial contract will be for a period of 12 months with a renewal until the end of the project
