Chemonics International seeks a Grants Assistant to be located in Kendari,
Southeast Sulawesi for the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and Climate
Support (IMACS) project. This project provides technical support for
improving key marine and fisheries sector components with the Ministry of
Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), local governments, coastal
communities, and the private sector.


*Scope of work *

·        Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the procedures
established in the IMACS Grants Manual and Management Plan and of USAID
rules and regulations as they apply to grants-under-contract.

·        Assist Regional Field Coordinator in establishing eligibility and
capacity of potential grantees through grantee visits, reference checks and
other tasks as directed.

·        Work with Administrative Assistant to develop and maintain rate
sheet of items commonly procured for use in IMACS grant activities.

·        Assist with budget development and negotiation.

·        Maintain full records of grant development process.

·        Ensure grantee compliance with the requirements of the grant
agreement through a schedule of regular monitoring activities.

·        Build and maintain strong working relationships with grantees.

·        Maintain full and accurate records of grant activities in both
electronic and hard copy.

·        Assist Regional Administrative Assistant in grant in-kind
procurement of both goods and services.

·        Assist with translation of grant documentation from Bahasa
Indonesian – English and English – Bahasa Indonesia.

The Grant Assistant  will be based at the IMACS regional office in Kendari,
NTB. And will undertake frequent travel to the five districts of NTB within
which the project operates. The Grant Assistant is supervised and evaluated
by the Regional Field Coordinator, in consultation with the Regional Office
Director. The initial period of performance of this assignment is estimated
at 100 days level of effort, with the possibility of further extension.

*Qualifications:*

·        Bachelor degree in economics is preferred;

·        Grants experience on former USAID projects is preferred;

·        At least 3 years of experience in a role relevant to the work
listed above; and

·        Fluency speaking and writing in English required.
