Chemonics
International Inc. seeks technical advisors for the anticipated ASEAN
Connectivity through Trade and Investment (ACTI) project, funded by the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The
project will provide technical assistance, training, materials, and other
resources as needed to accelerate the implementation of select components of
the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint. The overall development goal of
this project is to strengthen ASEAN integration by expanding capacity in trade,
investment and human capital to enable ASEAN to drive its realization of ASEAN
Economic Community and integration into the global economy. We are looking for
individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people
around the world.


General qualifications for all
technical advisors include:
·        Citizens of ASEAN member states
who are willing to relocate to Jakarta
·        Work or consultancy experience
with ASEAN
·        Minimum eight years experience
working on donor-funded or government trade programs
·        Ability to develop effective
working relationships with counterparts at all levels
·        Strong verbal and written communications
skills
·        Competency in preparing and
presenting concise and effective reports in English
We
are currently recruiting for the following positions:

Deputy Chief of Party
(DCOP)/Senior Trade Facilitation Advisor
·        Advanced degree in economics,
business, law, international development, or in a related field
·        Have a minimum of five years of
relevant international technical work experience in trade facilitation,
customs, standards harmonization or related projects.
·        Experience working with government
officials to assess needs and jointly plan activities, particularly in relation
to single window systems, is desired
·         Must have a minimum of three
years of demonstrated experience: planning and management of multi-year
projects, including budgeting; sourcing and overseeing short-term expertise;
reporting data and narrative results of progress
·        Relevant technical knowledge in
Contracts subject matter is required
·        Experience working on USAID
programs preferred

Single Window Trade and Trade
Standards Harmonization Specialist
·        Advanced degree in economics,
trade, international studies or related field
·        Experience in building political
consensus on trade standards harmonization
·        Familiar with the technology and
the architecture of Single Window systems
·        Knowledgeable of current and
upcoming ASEAN regional trade integration efforts
·        Experience in facilitating trade
enhancing reforms

Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)
Capacity Building Specialist
·        Advanced degree in economics,
finance, business management, public policy or related field
·        Strong knowledge of ASEAN member
countries’ business community and economic environment
·        Experience in organizational
capacity building and advising access to finance
·        Substantial strategic, managerial
and technical experience with USAID or other donor-funded SME development
projects
·        Successful implementation of
activities that resulted in strengthened capacity of SMEs
·        Experience in public-private
engagement to support SME enterpreneurship
·        Experience in strengthening SME
Human Resource Development and Capacity
·        Experience building capacity of
women-owned SMEs and SME access to ICT to expand business domestically and
within the ASEAN region

Trade Information Communications
Technology (ICT) Specialist
·        Knowledge of ICT level in ASEAN
member states
·        Experience providing technical
assistance to the IT sector, including expanding regional broadband capacity,
access and broadband inftrastructure, and emerging technology planning
·        Experience with ICT standards
harmonization to the global norms, ICT Security Standards, Protection of
Electronic Identity/Proprietay data
·        Minimum eight years of experience
working with capacity development and advocacy programs on using ICT tools for
information management
·        Proven ability to adapt ICT
international best practices to the ASEAN member states

Renewable Energy and Energy
Efficiency Specialist
·        Advanced degree in engineering,
environmental management or related field
·        Understanding of ASEAN member
states environmental issues and energy efficiency efforts
·        Experience in promoting clean
energy technologies and capability to adapt them to meet ASEAN member states’
needs
·        Experience providing technical
assistance in energy efficiency and conservation, Energy Efficiency Standards
and Labeling for appliances and building efficiency codes for commercial and
industrial sector
·        Deep knowledge in renewable energy
technologies: solar, hydropower, bioenergy, civilian nuclear energy, natural
gas resources
