World Food Programme, Indonesia invites applications from the eligible
candidates for the following position:

Position: Senior Public Information Assistant
Contract Type: SSA/Service Contract
Duty Station: Jakarta, Indonesia


Accountabilities: Within the assigned unit, the incumbent will be
responsible for the following duties:
Perform activities relating to media including preparation of
press conference, press releases including interviews for print and
electronic media. (Preferable if candidate can MC in English and
Indonesian at these events);

Facilitate internal/external communication through preparing key
messages and/or update operational fact sheets as we transition to the new
country strategy;

Develop and implement a social media strategy leveraging on the
increasing proliferation of this form of communication in Indonesia;

Work with ‘champions’ council looking at ways to promote WFP;

Develop strategies to address how to maintain/increase funding
from traditional and emerging donors;

Research key government donors and private sector donors to
explore possible areas of collaboration with WFP. Ensure all donors pass
WFP due diligence;

Prepare briefs and other documents explaining donor
policies/trends; alert senior management to major donor issues;

Assist Head of unit to raise resources for the programme; set up
sales pitches, negotiate contributions; keep donors informed of key policy
and operational issues of importance to the programme; submit funding
proposals;

Coordinate with other units in house to ensure that donor
conditions are able to be met;

Assist in forecast levels of donor contributions based on
systematic gathering and updating of relevant information; Use
Salesforce.com, Internal Client Relation Manager tool;

Support the finalization of the SOP of private sector fund raising
and actual implementation in the immediate aftermath of natural disasters;

Prepare all invoices, thank you letters and internal reporting
documents relating to signed donors – use internal ERMP system;

Perform other related duties as required.


Qualifications and Experiences:

Education: Secondary school education, preferably supplemented by courses
in a field related to public information activities.
Experience: At least five years of progressively responsible support
experience of which at least three years in the field of public
information or other related field.
Knowledge: Training and/or experience utilizing computers including word
processing, spreadsheet and other software packages.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Other Desirable Skills: Training and/or experience using Word, and Excel;
WFP’s Information Systems (WINGS) and other WFP software; knowledge of WFP
financial regulations; and rules and WFP policies and procedures in the
area of work.
