KASONAWEJA PROJECT COORDINATOR based in Mamberamo

Conservation International, an international non-governmental organization, is seeking applicants for the following position to be based in Kasonaweja, Mamberamo:

KASONAWEJA PROJECT COORDINATOR

Kasonaweja Team Leader will be a part of the implementation of CI’s Mamberamo Program, a subcontract under the USAID IFACS project. The Project’s designed to support the USAID Indonesia Country Program Strategy 2009 - 2014, Objective 2. “Sustainable Management of
Natural Resources,” Intermediate Result 1 “Improved Management of Forest Ecosystems”. The Project aims to reduce threats of deforestation and address Climate Change (CC). The Team Leader reports to the Mamberamo Program Manager. The function of this position is to manage implementation of the project activities and to ensure activities
support the program objectives. The Team Leader will also manage the Kasonoweja Office and staff, ensuring that individual and project work plans and procedures are in place and implemented. This position is responsible for maintaining good relationships with partners, especially with the local government in Mamberamo Raya Regency and Jayapura.

Key Duty/Responsibility:

1.    Contribute to the Program Work plan and results monitoring plan.
2.    Oversee Kasonaweja Site Office and staff; coordinate the day to day implementation of project activitiesin coordination with CII staff and Consultant.
3.    Build and maintan relationships with key stakeholders, such as relevant government official in Mamberamo Raya and Provincial Jayapura, Informal Leader, Community, NGOs, private sector, and other relevant institutions.
4.    Represent CI in other potential activities and carry out other duties as required by the Mamberamo Program Manager.
5.    Report to internal and external stakeholder as required, including regular monthly written project progress reports for the Mamberamo Program Manager.

Qualifications:
•    Degree in forestry, economy, agriculture or other related field,with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experienced in project management in a rural development context.
•    Personable, creative, team-oriented and highly motivated. Good written and oral communication skills in  English.
•    Experience and has a broad knowledge of social conditions, culture and the environment in Mamberamo.
•    Experience in capacity building, collaborative land use planning, and policy development.
•    Experience in planning, organizing and project implementation.
•    Networking ability and facilitation skills.
•    Computer skills and experience in relevant software.
•    Strong interest in environmental issues and eagerness to expand knowledge
