Vacancy at CWS Indonesia as Program Officer Psychosocial - Cipayung, Bogor

is an international relief, development, and refugee assistance agency that has been operating in Indonesia  for many years under an agreement with the Ministry of Social Affairs. CWS Indonesia is the field office of CWS, Inc., headquartered in New York. CWS assists the most vulnerable, regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.  CWS is implementing a UNHCR-funded program in Jakarta and Bogorthat assists refugees and asylum seekers to access basic services such as health care, and provides skills training and education programs. CWS is now looking to fill the following position:

Program Officer – Psychosocial,  based in Cipayung,

Bogor– 1 person
Duration of contract: 8 months

General
Requirements:
-       Having background/ degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social work, Humanities, or related field
-       Ability to work in a cultural and gender-sensitive manner, respecting diversity in its all forms, including religious minorities, socio-economic situation, sexual orientation and
ethnicity, etc;
-       Experience in psychosocial support for children, SGBV survivors and others;
-       Having experience working with INGO or International environment
-       Good communication in both spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English
-       Ability to interact and communicate with wide range of stakeholders (NGO networks, government institutions and refugees)
-       Able to work independently with minimum supervision and to handle multi tasking jobs
-       Possess computer skills, including internet-based communication/ and various office applications (Microsoft Words, Excel and Power Point)
-       Having the ability to work in a team and work harmoniously in a multi-cultural environment
-       Wiling to work outside working hours if necessary
-       Willing to travel/visit to project site frequently.

  Specific Requirements:
-     Good interpersonal skills with ability to motivate both staff and local partners/community/refugees
-     Able to handle the emergency cases and community/refugees services
-     Willing to prepare and provide capacity building/training for staff and refugees.
-     Experience in working with children and refugees is an advantage
-     Have the ability to organize data management 
-     Skill in writing, reporting, and documenting is essential.
-     Have an understanding of discrimination and its effects.

JOB SUMMARY: The Program Officer – Psychosocial Support (PSS) position is required to support CWS’ program in Jakarta & Cipayung – West Java. The Program Officer – PSS will report
to Program Manager for all kinds of reporting and communication concerning the project.  Knowledge and advice on progress and challenges found in the field will be required in areas related to psychosocial support program’s issues, including GBV issues.  The position also requires coordination/ communication with CWS Programs staff as well as managerial, administration and
documentation skills. Ability to be flexible in working with refugees and as part of the team is essential.

  RESPONSIBILITY AND TASKS:
1. Implementation of Psychosocial Support (PSS)
in Jakarta and Cipayung-West Java.
·         Identify any psychosocial problem and special needs  of the refugees.
·         Plan and facilitate activities for Unaccompanied Minors (UAMs)
·         Be responsible in supervising the shelter for UAMs and ensuring the protection is applied at the shelter
·         Manage counseling referral and follow up action if needed.
·         Coordinate with other organizations in relation with any development in PSS referral system
·         Supervise  the social workers in providing assistance and activities for the UAMs

2. Implementation of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) prevention
and response  program
·         Identify any SGBV related cases from  the persons of concerns
·         Respond to and assist in any case of SGBV following UNHCR SGBV SOP (or SGBV Guidelines)
·         Conduct and facilitate related SGBV education/training program for PoCs and staff
·         Develop SGBV program plan as needed and discuss with Program Manager and Gender Advisor
·         Act as PURE Project’s SGBV focal point
·         Coordinate with other organization in relation to the referral and response for any reported SGBV incident

3. Documentation and
report writing.
·         Provide information, data and reports in timely manner as requested.
·         Ensure that all program documentation and reports are prepared and filed properly and in timely manner.
·         Provide reports on field visit/ cases of refugees
·         Provide progress reports of CWS program

4. Monitoring,
Evaluation and Reporting
·         Monitor the implementation of PSS program
·         Evaluate the program and refugees’ report accordingly to the plans in collaboration with other Program Officers.

5. Internal communication and coordination
·         Communicate and coordinate with finance staff on financial issues of the projects.
·         Communicate and coordinate with Program Manager and other Program officers on programmatic issues.
·         Communicate and coordinate with administration staff on administration issues, such as coordination on vehicle’s requirement when traveling to project sites.
·         Plan the implementation of PSS program and coordinate with other staff.
·         Assist and support other CWS staff in liaising with refugees during program implementation.
·         Report/ share any information related to the refugees’ issues to the relevant program staff.
·         Attend the staff coordination/ planning/ evaluation meeting/ workshop.

6.  Others
·         Do other tasks related to the PURE project implementation as requested by the Program Manager.
