ACF VACANCIES - DRM Supervisor and Officer - base in KUPANG/NTT

1. DRM Supervisor - Based in KUPANG / NTT


Key responsibility :
Responsible
for the implementation of NTT Disaster Preparedness Program

Key Objectives of the position :
* Technical expertise on CBDRM within the program

* Management of the community-based disaster preparedness program in NTT

* Coordinate the disaster preparedness activities with other local stakeholders and facilitate the setting-up of operational partnerships

* Participate in the “capitalisation” on ACF’s DRR activities in the rural context of NTT

* A focal point for capacity building activities of staffs and partners of DRR
Diploma
/ Level of studies: Bachelor, intermediate  degree -strong interest in working with communities
Required skills : Back ground and previous work experience in
Disaster Preparedness and participatory methods– Excellent team worker, excellent
relationships with local authorities – Management, organisational and
leadership skills – Able to manage team - Receptive to people, gender issues and cultural
differences, patient, able to identify problems and overcome conflicts –
Communication and pedagogical skills – Flexible, well-organised, punctual
reliable – Very good synthetic mind, able to express ideas clearly in both oral
speech and in written reports – Good English written skills and local languages
and willing to go to field.

2. DRM Officer - Based in KUPANG / NTT

Key Responsibility :
Responsible
for implementation of the DRM program in selected villages

Diploma
/ Level of studies:
Bachelor, intermediate  degree -strong interest in working with communities

Key Objectives :
* Conduct
baseline surveys for community profiling, KAP and relevant surveys

* Facilitate Community Based disaster preparedness program in the selected
villages and at district and sub-district levels;

* Conduct
Sensitization at local Level

* In
cooperation with DRM Spv and Head of the program conduct  Disaster Management Training and other
relevant training for staff, partners and local communities

* Coordinate
the disaster preparedness activities with other local stakeholders

Required skills :
Background and previous work experience as a Community Animator/ Organizer using participatory methods; knowledge of Disaster Preparedness issues and techniques would be a strong asset -capacity to follow a protocol - good ability to work and lead a team – Flexibility - Rigour and precision - Strong interpersonal skills – Positive relation approach with communities – Empathy - Patience - Capacity to manage priorities – Autonomy - Knowledge in English and local languages
