Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries throughout the world. Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. Save the Children has grown enormously in the country and today we operate in 13 provinces across Indonesia with portfolio of approximately 12 grants from diverse donors. Currently Save the Children has an immediate need for experienced staffs to be part of our program and will be based in Jakarta.


The position we are looking for are:


Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (code: M&E Sp Jkt) – 1 post, based in Jakarta

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist oversees the quality of project monitoring and evaluation across all Save the Children in Indonesia programs. This includes working closely with the Director Programs to ensure that proposals contain appropriate monitoring and evaluation approaches and funding. It also includes working with program staff to ensure that appropriate program monitoring and evaluation systems are established including ensuring the quality of all M&E plans for each individual project. This position will be based in Jakarta and require travel to sub-offices throughout Indonesia. Post holder will report directly to Director of Program.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work with the Director Programs and others as assigned in ensuring that all proposals include adequate M&E approaches and resources.

2. Work with each project to ensure that they have established and are implementing appropriate M&E plans.

3. Work with the Communications Manager and Director Programs to ensure that information from each project is consolidated into a centralized database for reporting and communications.

4. Work with each project and the Director Programs to ensure that reporting is accurate.

5. Work with each project and external consultants in designing external evaluations including baseline and end-line (final) evaluations.

6. Identify a small team of M&E/Programmatic staff to train as a country-wide virtual Save the Children M&E group.

7. Make recommendations for improved M&E including improved data management.

8. Ensure that all data from projects are stored in a central location.

9. Complete other M&E tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
Education: Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Skill and Experiences:

· Minimum 5 years working experience with relevant organizations in the International NGO or private sector in related fields.

· Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects

· Excellent quantitative skills

· Excellent computer skills including mastery of relevant software

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in Indonesian and English

· Capacity to train others on complicated topics

· Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural team
