Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental
alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries
throughout the world. Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since
1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection,
livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. The Skills to
Succeed project supports vulnerable youth in gaining employment skills
through capacity development, entrepreneurship skills development, and
vocational education. The Skills to Succeed project will be implemented
in Bandung, West Java and Lampung, Lampung for a period of two years.
Currently Save the Children has an immediate need for experienced staffs
to be part of our new Accenture project team and will be based in
Bandung.
The position we are looking for are:
Project Coordinator (code: PC Accenture) - 1 post, based in Bandung
The post holder will be responsible for overall project management and
implementation of all activities. S/he will be responsible for the
financial, programmatic implementation and monitoring of all project
activities, and the development of the project implementation plan.
S/he will ensure that all activities included in the implementation plan
are implemented, results documented, and key relationships established
and maintained. S/he will also produce information for the Jakarta
office for programmatic reports and assist in coordinating engagement
with the donor including any visits. S/he will support program
documentation and oversee one Lampung-based staff member. S/he will be
supported by a Bandung-based finance and admin support team.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Work with the Programs Director and EXCEED project team to
develop a detailed implementation plan for the Skills to Succeed
project.
2. Ensure Skills to Succeed project activities are implemented
according to the detailed implementation plan including leading the
technical implementation of the project in both field locations.
3. With input from outside technical experts, ensure high quality
technical implementation of all project interventions according to
global best practices, and lessons learned from SC programming in
Indonesia and globally. Special emphasis will be placed on coordinating
with a Save the Children US outside technical expert who will support
the Skills to Succeed project.
4. Ensure close collaboration with local stakeholders including
establishing and developing strong and effective relationships with
public and private stakeholders. This will include collaborating with
local employers and private sector associations to ensure that education
meets their needs and goals.
5. Assess pre-selected local partners and work with them to improve
their technical capacity to deliver relevant employment skills programs.
6. Work with Save the Children US technical experts to validate
training and other tools from other countries for use among project
local partners.
7. Together with the Senior Program Officer and with assistance from
other staff, develop an effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting
system (including documenting activities) to ensure the effectiveness of
project implementation. This will include participating in any
baseline and final evaluation studies.
8. Ensure the day to day management and reporting of project
financial resources is in accordance with donor regulations and SCiIDN
policies and procedures.
9. Ensure timely submission of activity, financial, and monitoring
reports in accordance with the Skills to Succeed project M&E
framework, donor requirements, and SCiIND requirements.
10. Provide effective management and supervision of one staff member.
11. Ensure that close coordination with other projects based out of Bandung.
Specific Requirements:
Education: Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Skill and Experiences:
* Minimum 5 years work experience with relevant organizations in
the NGO or private sector/project management with at least 3 years
experience in youth education programs.
* Knowledge and experience in programs that promote and develop
youth employment skills and able make accurate and complete
implementation plan.
* Proven skills to develop an implementation plan and then efficiently implement activities.
* Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents in Indonesian and English.
* Excellent communication skills with different stakeholders/government/private sectors
* Proven ability to manage financial resources according to
donor and organization regulations and reporting requirements.
* Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
* High self-motivation level and initiative to establish working relationships.
* Patience and flexibility.
* Willingness to travel and supervise a remote team.
