AMARTA II is a USAID funded program that aims to improve the
competitiveness of the value chains of three high-value commodities:
Coffee, Cocoa and Horticultural crops and to increase the access to
credit of small holder farmers in these three sectors.
The project will work extensively with local government, farmers groups,
marketing companies, processors, input suppliers and other stakeholders
to increase the income of the whole sector and the proportion of income
retained by farmers.
Our project and offices are in Medan, Makassar, Bandung, and our National Office is located in Jakarta.
We are currently seeking experienced professionals to fill the Institutional Capacity Building Specialist based in Medan.
Institutional Capacity Building Specialist. S/he will be responsible for
developing and implementing institutional capacity building and
institutional strengthening, to improve their participation on
agribusiness competitiveness, and liaise with district government and
other agencies/stakeholders to achieve maximum collaboration in
implementing the AMARTA II Program.
Key tasks include organize farmer groups and other relevant stakeholders
into more consolidated producer groups to identify constraints from
seeds to post harvest stages, which are the embryo of Agribusiness
Competitiveness Alliance, as media in which AMARTA II can respond that
will significantly improve competitiveness.
Requirements: University degree in Agriculture, Management, Social
Science or similar field. Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in the
development organizations/institution, especially the horticulture
farmers group capacity buildings and the related agribusiness
activities, including supporting small and medium enterprises and
cooperatives, experience working in a similar position in an local or an
international organization, knowledge of USAID supported programs,
excellent command over the English language. Skilled with standard
Microsoft Office packages including the internet, web browsing and ICT
literacy.
Duration of assignment is 12 months and starting date immediately.
