THE ORGANISATION: AUSTRALIAN ELECTORAL COMMISSION

The
Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is the federal government agency in
charge of organizing and supervising federal elections and referendums in
Australia. The AEC was first established in 1902, as a branch of the Department
of Home Affairs. In 1973 it became the Australian Electoral Office, a name it
retained until 21 February 1984 when it became the Australian Electoral
Commission, a Commonwealth statutory authority.

Under the
Australia Indonesia Electoral Support Program, AEC Indonesia’s main mission is
to provide assistance to and build capacity for its counterparts. One of the programs
is BRIDGE Training series.

BRIDGE
stands for Building Resources in
Democracy, Governance and Elections. BRIDGE is a training program developed
by the International Institute of Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA),
the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), the United Nations Election
Assistance Division (UNEAD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
and International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES).

The
training program aims to achieve effective, sustainable electoral
administration, and currently focuses on the ‘Elections’ part of its name. The DG BRIDGE aims to expand the current
BRIDGE elections (E) curriculum to include the democracy and governance (D and
G) component.

The DG BRIDGE Indonesia
Programis a part of pilot initiative of DG BRIDGE. Funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), and managed by
the Australian Electoral Commission – Jakarta, until the end of 2012.

The goal of DG
BRIDGE Indonesia is to promote and support democracy and governance
through facilitating dialogue, learning, resources and networks.

THE POSITION: DG-BRIDGE PROJECT ASSISTANT

Under the supervision
of the DG-BRIDGE Program Coordinator and in close collaboration with the DG-BRIDGE
Project Officer, the DG-BRIDGE Project Assistant shall be responsible for the
following:

·   supporting
on financial management tasks:(eg: financial reconciliation, etc.)
·   supporting
on contract and administration management tasks (eg: contract review, itinerary
and travel arrangement, etc.)    
· supporting
current and upcoming monitoring and evaluation efforts (eg: following up data
collection and compilation of monitoring and evaluation surveys,etc.)
·   in
charge in all logistical management activities for DG BRIDGE activities (eg:
producing merchandise, banners, brochures, documentation, etc.)
·   maintaining
and administrating information/database management for DG BRIDGE activities
·   maintaining
and administrating the database, mailing list, and social network forum of DG
BRIDGE facilitators, participants, beneficiaries, and alumni
·   supporting
on translation and editing tasks as necessary
·   other
requested tasks related to DG BRIDGE activities

THE SELECTION
CRITERIA

Essential
Criteria:
·   Degree
in Business Administration/Management/Secretarial Study/Social Science or other
related area
·    Excellent competency in
administration and financial tasks (skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office is
compulsory )
·   Fluent
in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and oral
·   A Team Player
·   Fresh-graduates
are welcome.

Desirable
Criteria:
·    1 – 2 years experiences in
program administration or management in development sector
·    Statistical knowledge is an
advantage
