Title: Area Coordinator
Location: North Sumatera
Reports to: Country Representative

Yayasan Fondasi Hidup is an independent non-governmental organization based in
Medan, North Sumatra and has program operations in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatera
Provinces. FH has been working in Indonesia since 2005 and aims to alleviate all forms of poverty through wholistic programming and approach.
Currently, FH works in the Agriculture, Economic Development, Education sectors as
well as addressing cross cutting issues such as Gender Balance and Equity, Good
Governance and Disaster Risk Reduction. Our goal is to walk with families and
community leaders to bring sustainable change.

Main purpose of the role
The Area Coordinator is based in Medan (North Sumatera) and reports to Country
Representative on all matters pertinent to her/his job. He/she is responsible for
supervising all program activities in his/her area and ensuring program quality. Area
Coordinator is also responsible for providing guidance and direction to program and
support staff.

This role will:
- Work closely with Country Representative (CR), Senior Programming Advisor (SPA)
and other staff in the Medan office.
- Responsible for developing good working relationships with local partners: other
NGO's, government agencies, etc.
- Conduct continuous needs analysis in participation with key steak-holders, including
community members
- Assure the successful implementations of all programs.

Responsibilities (JD)
• Supervise program and support staff
• In coordination with CR and SPA design and implement programs
• Assure quality and effectiveness of all programs
• Together with the Finance Officer assure compliance with all FH financial policies
• Monthly submission of Financial Reports and weekly program updates
• Maintain Inventory lists and update Logistics officer as needed
• Represent FH in key meeting with goverment officials and look out for the best
interest of of the organization

Qualifications, experience and competences (hiring manager can adjust depends
on the position needed/required)
Essential
• Ability to read, write and communicate in Indonesian, strong command of English
• Computer literate, highly organized
• Ability to get along with people from all walks of life
• Ability to handle details and contribute to team building environment
• Experience of working and participating effectively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail.
• Teachable spirit, passionate about FH vision, mission and values.
• Ability to effectively present information
• Interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and/ or government
regulations
• Familiarity with MS Office
• Strong analytical skills
• Bachellors degree in a relevant field
• Good working knowledge of Participatory Assessment tools
• A minmum of 4 years experience in managing (from design to implementation) of
social programs
• At least 2 years experience in managing staff

Desirable
• Working knowledge of the local language and prior working experience in the
area.
