ChildFund Indonesia is currently seeking:

Position        : Technical Specialist: Maternal and Child Health/Early Childhood Development (Position Code: TS-MCH)
Reporting to  :  Program Director
Based in       :  Jakarta

Functional Summary

The Technical Specialist –Maternal and Child Health reports to the Program Director and is responsible for providing technical guidance on maternal health and early childhood development issues. This includes designing new interventions, preparing program guidelines, monitoring program quality, documenting promising practices and reporting. This also includes facilitating learning and capacity building through internal and external resources to support projects designed on MCH and ECD.

The Technical Specialist –Maternal and Child Health will be part of ChildFund’s internal team of experts on specific age-groups that ensure overall program quality and incorporation of best practices as relevant to ChildFund Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the core ECD group for the country team.Carrying out an assessment of the current life stage 1 portfolio. This involves mapping current MCH/ECD interventions to identify areas of strengths/gaps based on the core outcomes that ChildFund proposes to achieve.Designing and developing the National Office’s “Niche Core Program” (NCP) inline with the Theory of Change (ToC) with support from the International/Regional Office. This includes developing the learning agenda and NCP support materials and tools for the NCP toolkit that will be applied in ChildFund working area.Providing technical input to the development of ChildFund Indonesia’s ‘Advocasy and Visibility’ Plan and the ‘Communication and Public Engagement’ StrategyLeading the rollout of the NCP program to partners/program/sponsorship teams and local stakeholders on NCP/ECD/life stage 1.Assuring the NCP program is implemented as planned within the local environment.Documenting
NCP/life stage 1 experiences and best practices to share globally within the region and nationally.Supporting the M&E specialist design appropriate standards and quality checklist for MCH/ECDBuilding the capacity of field offices and partners to implement high quality programming in the fieldIdentifying funding opportunities and providing technical support to proposal development at all levels of the organization as requestedRepresenting the National Office in relevent networks, public speaking, legislative advocasy events, donor contractProviding timely reporting as required by RO/IO/NO and grant requirements etcProviding technical assistance to the field and assesses the effectiveness of the interventions in the attainment of ChildFund Indonesia’s core outcomes.Serving as a liasion in providing information to regional countries within NCPWillingness to travel nationally and internationally as well as to remote areas

Qualifications and experience

At least 12-15 years of providing technical assistance in the programs for 0 -6 age-groups including maternal health, early childhood health, development and nutrition.Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English and Bahasa IndonesiaStrong computer skillsA Medical degree or PhD in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Pyschology, Human Development, Family Studies , Nutrition from a reputable university of institution
