About The Organization
The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is a member of the Consortium of
International Agricultural Research Centers (CGIAR). As a global leader
in agroforestry research and development, ICRAF’s ultimate purpose is to
improve human welfare by reducing poverty, increasing cash income,
improving food and nutritional security, and increasing environmental
resilience through improved agroforestry systems. ICRAF has it’s
headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and works in 28 countries throughout
Africa, Asia and Latin America.
In 1992, the World Agroforestry Centre opened a program for Southeast
Asia with Bogor, in Indonesia, as its regional headquarters. We
currently work in five Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia,
Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and China.
The Position
Organise and facilitate agroforestry and forestry research and
development activities related to enhancing farmers’ livelihoods at the
district level. This will include responsibility for all administrative,
financial and liaison duties at the district level. The District
Coordinator position will be supervised directly by the Senior Team
Leader.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following :
· Design and implement research, development and improvement of agroforestry, forestry and nursery systems.
· Design and implement research to enhance farmers’ agroforestry, forestry and nursery systems.
· Support project staff in the planning and implementation of i)
training courses to enhance farmers’ skills and agroforestry, forestry
and nursery systems; and ii) weekly/biweekly farmers’ groups activities.
· Serve as technical resource person during training activities and farmers’ group visits.
· Develop and produce training material and related technical documents;
· Support the activities of the Marketing Specialist.
· Support the implementation of Governance and Environment activities by project specialists.
· Supervise the organization and strengthening of farmers’ groups
and community organizations to participate in project activities.
· Share success stories and lessons learned with colleagues and stakeholders.
· Liaise with key partners to share success stories and lessons learned.
· Develop district-level work plans.
· Manage and monitor all project activities at the field level
(including technical, administrative, financial, reporting and
personnel).

Qualifications and Skills Required:
· Minimum S1, preferred S2 (horticulture, estate crops, forestry or related field).
· Ten years of working experience in nursery-related field work (research and/or development).
· Experience in community development/organizing and participatory methods.
· Have sufficient experience in working in the field;
· Strong team player and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations.
· Good oral and written communication skills in both Indonesian and English.
· History of writing research and extension documents.
· Basic computer, administrative and documentation skills
Terms of offer
§ This is a Professional Fixed Term nationally recruited staffposition with a competitive salary and benefits package.
§ The contract is for a period of 2 (two) years, with possibility of
renewal, subject to 3 (three) months evaluation period, assessment of
performance and availability of resources.
